NO FCRA USE. Lancaster County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Nebraska, or federal government body. This site and its advertising partners do not provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource identifies official criminal-record channels in Lancaster County, Nebraska. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.
1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not maintain official criminal records and cannot retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for a user.
Its function is to identify Lancaster County record custodians, including the sheriff, corrections department, Nebraska courts, Nebraska State Patrol repository, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Users agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of federal, Nebraska, or local law
- Threaten, harass, stalk, or intimidate another person with information found here
- Rely on site content for housing, employment, lending, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against these pages
- Interfere with service performance or another visitor's access
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information from these pages or any linked tool must not be used to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Nebraska's Sex Offender Registration Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§29-4001 onward, governs registry information, and the official Nebraska Sex Offender Registry warns that retaliation, threats, and vandalism are illegal and may lead to prosecution. Registry access is for lawful public safety awareness, never vigilantism.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit, background, or consumer reports. The same restriction applies to use of site content and linked tools. A user must not use them to:
- Make a decision about hiring or continued employment
- Evaluate a rental or housing application
- Set insurance terms or assess credit
- Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
- Carry out any other purpose governed by the FCRA
Any legally permitted check for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider and follow the law governing that decision.
5. No Legal Advice
Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Nebraska attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, set-aside, sealing rule, or narrow expungement remedy applies to specific facts.
6. No Warranties
All content and services are provided "as is." We make no promise that:
- Information will always be complete, accurate, or current
- Access will be continuous or uninterrupted
- Every page will be free of defects or security weaknesses
- A partner tool will return complete or correctly matched results
Records change as charges are filed or dismissed and as Nebraska courts enter set-aside or sealing orders. No site statement is an official representation from Lancaster County, a court, the sheriff, or Nebraska State Patrol.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links lead to government pages, court portals, legal resources, and outside services that we do not operate. Their content, availability, prices, data practices, and terms remain their responsibility. Review those terms before using the destination.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Lancaster County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distributing, adapting, or creating derivative work requires prior written permission.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for loss arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information obtained through either.
10. Indemnification
A user agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that user's conduct or violation of these terms, including reasonable legal costs.
11. Governing Law
Nebraska law governs these terms, and a related dispute must be brought in a court located in Nebraska. Public access to government records is separately governed by the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, while public criminal-history dissemination is limited by §29-3523. Those statutes do not make this private site a government custodian.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without prior notice.
14. Severability
If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as far as needed for enforcement.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
